English Sticky Toffee Pudding Recipe

 

No not really pudding. More like a cake soaked in yummy sauce. 

Ingredients

Cake

1 ¼ c Dates finely chopped

8 oz boiling water  (Soak the chopped dates in this water while you get the rest ready).

½ cup unsalted butter (melted)

1 cup brown sugar

4 eggs large

1 ¾ c flour all purpose

½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

2 Tbsp cacao powder

1 pinch salt

Pour into a 9"x9" baking pan and bake at 350 for 50 min.

Sticky Toffee Sauce

¼ cup butter unsalted

1 cup brown sugar 

2 cups heavy whipping cream 

Bring to a med boil stirring constantly.
