Ecotherapy


 

Getting out in nature has a wide variety of health benefits including mental health benefits.

Ecotherapy is often used to reduce techno-stress (technology overuse or stress and strain from being in front of a computer all day long.)


Types of ecotherapy include:

  • Forest bathing
  • Animal therapy
  • Nature meditation
  • Conservation or taking stewardship over the earth and animals.
  • Arts and crafts with natural objects like pinecones and leaves.
  • Wilderness therapy
  • Adventure Therapy
  • Physical exercise in nature such as trail running
  • Dark Nature (activities at night such as stargazing)
  • Mediation activates such as water watching or fire watching
  • Mindfulness and mindfulness activities such as rock stacking or berry picking
  • Gardening
  • Nature ceremonies/prayer
  • Nature walks
  • Park prescriptions
  • Walk on grass barefoot (earthing)
  • Cob building
  • Eating garden herbs and foods
