Leif and I were traveling through a small settlement called Curlew, Washington.
The town looks a little like stepping back in time.
Leif pointed out that no one was wearing masks, which made it feel even more like stepping back in time.
I saw this cute church and wanted to get a few photos even though I did not have my nice Nikon with me.
As I was taking pictures I noticed a deer had taken refuge and was napping near the largest spire.
He was not hurt or trapped.
I set my camera down and crept toward him. I finally rested next to him and he looked at me and I looked at him. We sat so close to each other. I lifted my hand to pet him. His breathing got faster and I didn't want him to run since obviously he had found a great spot to hang out. I lowered my hand and talked to him for a while and he listened.
