Interview with Reader Brandi Kosiner

I'm a young adult book blogger as well as a yet to be published author of contemporary YA. I've written two novels, and am planning a third. I live in Raleigh NC and have a great husband Allan, a super sweet and crazy 3 year old named Katie, and another due in December.

I always welcome new followers and friends:

Deirdra: What are your favorite kind of books to read and why?
Brandi: YA, mostly contemporary and paranormal romance.

Deirdra: How many books on average would you say you read a year?
Brandi: 150?

Deirdra: What is the most recent book you read? Can you tell us a little about it?
Brandi: I'm reading The Hidden right now by Jessica Verday. It is the third in a series based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It's really good, and I've enjoyed the stories a lot.

Deirdra: What is the most disappointing thing authors do?
Brandi: Leave loose plots in an ending. I know that books that have sequels will not tie up everything, but it should resolve the main problem presented in the book.

Deirdra: Who are your top five favorite authors?
Brandi: That's so hard! But... Lurlene McDaniel, JK Rowling, Elizabeth Isaacs, Stephanie Meyer, and Richelle Mead

Deirdra: How do you feel about e-books?
Brandi: I'm down with them. I balked at first, but especially since I have an ereader, they've become my best friend.

Deirdra: If you could give a message to authors what would it be?
Brandi: I love it when they have blogs or twitter and are interactive with fans.

Deirdra: Have you ever thought about writing a book?
Brandi: I've actually written two and am planning a third.

Deirdra: What other talents and hobbies to you have?
Brandi: I like to play video and board games. I play co-op rpg's with my husband, and we are big fans of munchkin.

Deirdra: Where is your favorite place to read?
Brandi: On my couch or in bed.

Deirdra: Do you have a favorite reading snack?
Brandi: Hmm. Well I like wild cherry diet soda, and anything chocolate.

Deirdra: What books have made you cry?
Brandi: The majority of McDaniel's books.

Deirdra: What books have made you laugh?
Brandi: Oh, I laugh at a lot of books. Lisa Deroschers is good at throwing in the humor as well as Kate Kaynak.

Deirdra: What kind of books are you looking to read next? What is on your reading list?
Brandi: Hah. My to-be-read is miles long, but in my immediate future reading City of Fallen Angels by Clare, and Wolfsbane by Cremer.

Deirdra: Is there any other message you would like to give the literary community?
Brandi: Keep reading, and supporting authors, esp indie when you have a chance.
